Church Update, October 11, 2025

Gregg Garner has tendered his resignation from his position as Lead Pastor of the Community Church for God (“the Church”), effective immediately.

The resignation followed the unanimous decision of the Church’s Board of Directors on Sunday, October 5, 2025, to suspend Mr. Garner after the Board of Directors received credible allegations of moral failure.

We recognize that changes in leadership can raise questions and concerns. Please know that our focus remains on loving, accepting, integrating, and actively building one another up according to God’s Word.

The normal operations of the Church will continue under the capable leadership of Matthew Parker, our interim Lead Pastor.

However, please understand given the nature of the allegations, and to respect the privacy of the people involved, we cannot disclose specific information regarding Mr. Garner’s resignation at this time. Although Mr. Garner has resigned, the Board of Directors will continue to investigate the allegations and will keep you updated on the process as more information becomes available.
